The Department of Civil Engineering is Hiring!

We invite applications for three tenure-system faculty positions, one each in the general areas of structural engineering, environmental engineering and wind engineering, with a preferred start date of September 1, 2019. The search is open at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor levels, depending on qualifications.

Structural Engineering: we are interested in applicants with the expertise in autonomous and adaptive systems, innovative/non-conventional materials, mechanics, sustainability and resiliency.

Environmental Engineering: desired research foci are on environmental physical-chemical processes, environmental chemistry, water systems sustainability, and sustainable water-energy-food systems.

Wind Engineering: an expert is desired on a computational fluid dynamics for atmospheric applications, land based and offshore wind energy systems, and marine energy systems.

In addition to the noted areas of expertise, of high importance is the candidates' intellectual depth and promise in research and teaching.  Individuals with the ability to conduct multidisciplinary research, through their own endeavors as well as through collaborations within and outside the department, are particularly encouraged to apply.
